Z GIRLS

Empowering Girls for Success in Sports and in Life!

Watch out world, these Z Girls are ready to take you on!!

11/18/11 - Over the last five weeks, sixteen ski racer girls from Western Washington ran, jumped, stretched, and danced their way through the first ever Z Girls program. The girls learned how to use positive self-talk, discussed ways to better communicate with others, practiced setting healthy and useful goals, learned ways to improve their self-confidence, and embraced the fact that athletes can be committed and powerful but beautiful all at the same time. And the girls ROCKED! Their energy was infectious and Jilyne and I had a blast working with them. Thanks to Jilyne Higgins, Yogabliss, the parents, and the Z GIRLS for making the first Z Girls a success! Zero Gravity, Zero Limitations! Go get 'em girls!  (MORE PICTURES BELOW!)

Z GIRLS

Empowering Girls for Success in Sports and in Life!

__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Open to all J4 and J3 girls in PNSA.

Z Girls is a program aimed at empowering young ski racer girls with the skills and perspective they need not only to thrive in their sport, but more importantly, to thrive in life.

The goal of Z Girls is to supplement what the girls learn on the ski hill with skills and concepts that will help them to elevate their athletic achievement and their overall happiness and well-being. Half of each Z Girls session is dedicated to some kind of fun exercise or ski-specific conditioning, and the second half of each session engages the girls in discussion and journaling activities based on that day's focus-topic.

Attend all five sessions for maximum impact, or just drop-in for a few. See the schedule below for program details.

WHAT'S UP WITH THE NAME?

One of Libby's favorite things about the sport of ski racing was the feeling of being totally weightless, the sensation of ZERO gravity. Libby created Z Girls motivated by her vision of a world where all girls have the confidence and tenacity to chase their dreams, to operate from a place of ZERO limitations. Zero gravity, zero limitations: Z Girls!
